BORN IN A
BASEMENT.

Modern Bodies make psychedelic pop that sounds like sunlight trying to escape a blown speaker.

Formed in a Tupelo basement in 2019, the band folds jangling guitars, smeared synths and heavy fuzz into murky songs that drift between garage rock, shoegaze and space-noise.

What began with Preston George and Matthew Pugh grew into a four-piece with drummer Trey McCarter and bassist Jesse Sutton. After a run of home-recorded singles on their own Gun Club imprint, Modern Bodies joined Earth Libraries and pushed the noise wider—echoing vocals, bent hooks and songs built to feel a little unstable.
